Do #Tags behave differently inline?

Feeling that the tags should be left a little more "raw" though - if not from the UI, then at least from the API. Sapcomtcwddispwda should be sap.com.tc.wddisp.wda

I agree with @vdichev that I dont see it as a must to backtrack and change meta data,tags, etc on past messages

I know it's easy to try to fit all newcomers in the messaging world into the Twitter mold. Still, it is beneficial to see the differences from existing solutions not as disadvantages, but as ways to improve over a more or less ad-hoc architecture working on improvised hacks. I see ESME as an attempt to build scalability from the ground up, not as an afterthought. Anyway, in Twitter you can't edit past messages, why not go all the way and have metadata immutability as well?

Cool would a list of recently used tags that are displayed as you type. Like the google toolbar. I'm sure people will repeat their tags

@dhague : We should probably have some sort of stop list for the tags that gets rid of common words. Just like TREX does it.

Or if we stay with Capifying, only Capify the first word in a multi-word tag - this will help distinguish multi-word tags in the cloud

FWIW, I agree with the canonicalisation, I just don't like Capifying - all lower case would be more consistent with tags elsewhere
